About Round Hill

As with all the family wines, Round Hill is sustainably grown using the most eco-friendly viticultural practices.

Round Hill has a storied history of romance and passion for the wine industry. It was created by Ernie Van Asperen in 1978, who spent most of his life operating over eighty Ernie’s Liquor Stores and a handful of restaurants throughout California. Like many grape growers in the 70s, Ernie decided that instead of selling his grapes, he should bottle wine and sell it. His first bottled wine was named Round Hill, after the Round Hill Hotel and Villas in Montego Bay, Jamaica, where he and his wife, Virginia, honeymooned and returned many times during their 53 years of marriage. The Zaninovich family, long-time investors with the Van Asperen’s, purchased Round Hill in 2000. Keeping Ernie’s memory and vision for the brand alive, the Zaninovich family continues to craft the highest quality wines at amazing value.
